Nakheel Blue Communities
90' Dome Experience
Nakheel used our 90ft diameter dome theater to make 3 major announcements to the world. Their “Blue Communities” initiative for sustainable coastal developments. The Port Rashid development and The Galaxy development. These 3 announcements utilized the domes 360 degree format to immerse the audience in the story of these major announcements and visualize the future developments.
The 90ft dome video system utilized our state of the art in dome technology. The system primarily consists of 9 Christie Digital 20,000 lumen projectors and a 10.1 Meyer surround audio system. It was also our first public use of our newly developed uncompressed video playback system. This delivered vivid image quality at an unprecedented 10 mega pixel resolution.
The aerial and underwater live action footage for this ultra high resolution content was shot using spherical optics on the ground breaking 4k x 2.5k Red One camera system. Other pieces of the content integrated standard resolution documentary and historical films into elaborate 360 degree CGI backgrounds.
